Twenty five Long Beach Police officers, including nine motorcycle units joined forces with Search and Rescue personnel and Santa Claus to visit a dozen schools in the Long Beach area to hand out Christmas gifts on Wednesday. The officers have been doing the program for 35 years. "We used to take the kids to Disneyland, " said Sergeant Aaron Alu, "but Disney decided they didn't want us in there with our guns." The gifts were purchased by the Motor Officers Association.

Toy Drive Was Great Success!

Thanks to all the volunteers and Officers that came together to make this the best toy drive ever.

This year we visited 24 schools.  We had two groups each with its own Santa.  We handed out over 1,400 presents to underprivileged youth in our community.

Would you like to participate next year?  Contact us now and we will put you on the list.  Or, you can always donate cash to help us purchase the presents.

Coming from broken homes with little or no money, these kids are often lucky to receive a hot meal, let alone a brightly-wrapped gift. Our Toy drive is a great way to support a very worthy cause - bringing smiles to the faces of needy children during a magical time of year.

The Long Beach Motor Patrol Association is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization. Federal tax ID #47-4107727.
